Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst role in the Finance Department at Madison, WI, involves supporting accounting and finance functions for the manufacturing plant, including forecasting, reporting, month-end closing, account reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and SOX. The position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, over four years of related experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, and strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with occasional domestic and international travel up to 10%.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist in month-end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
2. Analyze month end and quarter end accrual balances to determine appropriate reserves in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
3. Work with department leads to forecast and review monthly spending to help manage spend control.
4. Support financial activities in manufacturing.
5. Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy.
6. Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
7. Special projects and create ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.
8. Assist with overall SOX compliance program for general accounting.

Job Requirements

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
• 4+ years financial analyst experience, including working in multinational company environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially MS Excel).
• Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX is required.
• Experience working with an ERP system; Oracle a plus.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to Madison, WI. This is not a remote role

Other Skills Preferred

• Strong financial acumen (P&L and Balance Sheet)
• Experience working with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a plus. MBA/CPA preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with ability to present analysis and findings in both verbal and written formats to all levels of management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and do what it takes to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive problem-solving skills and can work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Travel

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5-10%
