Project Manager (PE) – Land Development

Location : Richmond, VA (Hybrid – 3 days on-site with flexibility)

Employment Type : Full-time - Direct Placement

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as a Project Manager overseeing land development projects at an established third-party AEC firm . This role will support large-scale commercial clients and municipalities, ensuring projects are delivered with technical excellence, compliance, and efficiency. The Project Manager will act as the responsible engineer of record, signing off on engineering drawings, and leading a team of four engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage land development projects from planning through execution for commercial and municipal clients
  • Serve as the acting Project Manager and engineer of record, reviewing and signing off on engineering drawings
  • Supervise and mentor a team of four engineers, providing technical guidance and performance oversight
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are met
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables to maintain project quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing land development projects
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required)
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • 10+ years of experience in land development or civil engineering projects
  • Proven experience managing teams and overseeing engineering deliverables
  • Strong knowledge of municipal codes, permitting processes, and commercial development standards
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site in Richmond, VA
