Guest Advocate

Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality. The role of a Guest Advocate can provide you with the skills and experience of : communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience, blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns, adapting to different guest interactions and situations, and promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services. As a Guest Advocate, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities : demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard, creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks, when guests need assistance, engaging with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs, making the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events, being knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience, thanking guests and letting them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target, knowing and speaking to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed, scanning and bagging all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices, working efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy, understanding and showing guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet, being familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and knowing how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use these features, attempting every return and following register prompts; partnering with immediate Leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Target's policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, clutter free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal, stocking supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest, demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance, working in a safe manner at all times; complying with all safety policies, best practices, and training; reporting hazards and correcting where possible, supporting guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintaining a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws, and all other duties based on business needs. There are a few skills you should have from the get-go : communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to guests needs, welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members, attention to detail while prioritizing tasks, willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services, ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed, work both independently and with a team, and capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed, scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others, flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary, ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary), and capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc. Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at .
