Job Summary :
The Vice-President, Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, regulatory and tax compliance, and treasury-related activities for a large, complex health care system with approximately $6 billion in annual revenue. Reporting to the Sr. Vice-President Finance and Accounting, this role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the organization's financial records while driving consistency in accounting policies, processes, and controls across the system.The Controller serves as the primary authority on GAAP application, external reporting, audit management, and regulatory compliance, and is a key advisor to executive leadership and the finance team.What You Will Do :
Accounting Operations & Financial CloseLead all day-to-day accounting operations across corporate and business unit accounting, accounts payable, tax accounting, and regulatory reportingOwn and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessEstablish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and standardized procedures across the health systemMonitor and implement changes in GAAP and health carespecific accounting guidancePrepare and oversee the preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAPEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and regulatory reporting requirements, including CMS and other governing bodiesOversee preparation and submission of all tax filings and regulatory reportsEnsure compliance with debt covenants, financing agreements, and related reporting obligationsAudit & External RelationshipsServe as primary liaison with external auditors, managing the annual audit process and ongoing audit-related activitiesCoordinate responses to auditor requests and ensure timely resolution of findingsManage key external relationships, including banking partners and other liquidity providersTreasury & Cash ManagementOversee daily cash forecasting and liquidity planning to support system-wide operationsManage capital structure, debt planning and complianceInternal lead for banking relationships and treasury operations, ensuring adequate liquidity and compliance with financial policiesLeadership & Stakeholder EngagementLead, develop, and engage a high-performing accounting and finance teamCollaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, IT, Legal, and operational leadersPresent financial results and accounting matters to senior executivesAct as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on accounting, reporting, and regulatory mattersWhat You Will Need :
Education :Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.MBA or other relevant master's degree is preferred.Certification :Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.Experience :Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting or finance experienceAt least 5 years in a senior accounting leadership or management roleExperience in large, complex organizations; health care system or regulated industry experience strongly preferredDeep expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsUnique or Preferred Skills :Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial reporting systemsDemonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information to senior leadership and boardsStrong leadership skills with a track record of building and engaging high-performing teamsProven ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environmentStrong customer-service mindset with the ability to balance operational execution and strategic prioritiesBenefits (For full time or part time positions) :
