Rightfully Sewn is an exciting and unique organization that supplies high-quality American-produced sewn goods and creates jobs for under-served and vulnerable citizens who wish to learn vital job skills, located in Kansas City MO. We are looking for a skilled / trained commercial sewist to hire this quarter part-time. You must possess at least 1 year of experience or training through an approved sewing program and possess basic skills.

Responsibilities :

  • Sew production orders according to the highest quality standards;
  • Keep the sewing area clean and organized.
  • Sewing efficiency and production sewing must have at least 1-year experience or received commercial sewing training through a workforce development program
  • Vacuum sewing machines weekly.
  • Attend production meetings when necessary.
  • Assist with quality control when necessary.
  • Work with Line Supervisors to improve efficiency
  • Inform Line Supervisors when sewing equipment requires maintenance or supplies are about to run out so more can be ordered; and
  • Represent Rightfully Sewn at occasional internal events, such as tours and meetings.

  • Extremely organized and attentive to detail.
  • Well-presented.
  • Communicative via email and in person.
  • Able to work on multiple projects.
  • Able to work independently but feel empowered to ask questions when necessary.
  • Willing to learn and implement advanced production techniques and other best practices.
  • Understand production scheduling requirements and adhere to a production schedule.
  • Possess an approachable, open and honest demeanor.
  • Can meet or exceed metrics in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Committed to quality and Rightfully Sewn’s mission; and
  • Willing to learn new things and adapt to a growing organization.

    • Salary : $15 / hour

    Hours : Full-time, Monday through Friday, Days
