This role supports high-reliability mechanical hardware built in cleanroom environments and requires strong experience working from Siemens NX D CAD models, as well as the ability to create, validate, and refine assembly instructions for space hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, integrate, and support test of mechanical and electro-mechanical space / avionics hardware that interfaces directly with satellite systems
Work directly from Siemens NX D CAD models to interpret assemblies and guide build activities
Design, author, and improve assembly instructions/procedures
Identify incorrect, incomplete, or unclear assembly documentation and proactively flag issues to engineering and manufacturing leadership
Apply deep understanding of torque methods, fastener selection, and precision mechanical assembly across varied hardware configurations
Perform work in cleanroom environments, following contamination control, ESD, and handling requirements
Support hardware through assembly, integration, rework, and test cycles
Partner closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Test teams to resolve build issues and improve hardware quality
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
+ years of experience in senior mechanical assembly for spaceflight, satellite, or avionics hardware
Hands-on experience assembling mechanical components that attach directly to satellites or space systems
Strong experience working in cleanroom environments
Ability to read and work from Siemens NX D CAD models for assembly and integration
Experience creating, validating, or revising assembly instructions and build documentation
Strong understanding of torque applications, fasteners, and precision mechanical builds
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify problems, and escalate or correct issues before they impact hardware quality
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership aerospace environments
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Background in space systems, satellite hardware, or high-reliability avionics
Prior experience supporting design-for-assembly (DFA) or early hardware development builds
Experience supporting hardware through environmental or functional testing
Prior collaboration with design engineers on hardware iteration and process improvement
