Senior Art Director – Creative Packaging at Catalyst Brands LLC

Responsible for the visual development of packaging and branding for owned and partner brands across multiple product categories for JCPenney.

Base pay range

$85,000 – $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and creation of packaging, logos, colors, photography, and collateral for assigned category brands and partnerships, ensuring alignment with product development timelines and brand costing parameters.
• Develop and execute photographic strategies for owned and partnership brands, directing shoot schedules, post-production, color correction, and proofing for press‑ready files.
• Collaborate with global photography studios to evaluate and implement efficient product photography closer to manufacturing regions.
• Research competitive and inspirational packaging solutions to support customer‑focused design decisions.
• Create brand standards for each assigned category, including colors, fonts, and identity elements, and ensure these standards are maintained in all artwork.
• Review and verify all category artwork for consistency, program continuity, and accuracy before submission to senior management.
• Work with sourcing to evaluate packaging samples for color and art accuracy prior to production.
• Train, mentor, and manage assigned category Art Directors, developing learning paths and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• College degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of packaging and design experience using Illustrator, Photoshop, and workflow management software.
• Strong creative, interpersonal, decision‑making, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
• Proven technical and management skills creating, directing, and training creative services associates.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment.
