About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization through a transformative period, with a focus on activating change to ensure a vibrant future for the dance community. This pivotal role demands a strategic leader who can champion the priorities of the members, build consensus, and leverage resources to support new initiatives. The successful candidate will be accountable to the members, leading with a bold, anti-oppression vision that fosters innovation, collaboration, and collective progress. Key responsibilities include strengthening financial sustainability, deepening equity and inclusion, and reimagining the way the field connects and thrives. The Executive Director will also be responsible for diversified fundraising, financial management, and creating a culture of anti-oppression and equity within the organization.

Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' of senior leadership experience in dance or the performing arts, with a proven track record in fundraising and fiscal management. The role requires a commitment to anti-oppression and equity, as well as strong organizational and team leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be an agile and creative entrepreneurial thinker, capable of balancing day-to-day management with long-term planning. They must be a relationship-first leader with exceptional communication skills, able to serve as a compelling ambassador for the organization. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board, staff, and external partners to promote equitable arts policy and amplify the collective voice of the dance field.
