Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional IT consulting projects from initiation through completion. This role owns delivery outcomes, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team leadership. The Senior Project Manager provides strategic oversight, manages executive and client stakeholders, mitigates delivery and commercial risks, and ensures projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards in a consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management for complex, cross-functional IT initiatives
- Develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans
- Own delivery outcomes, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction
- Establish, enforce, and continuously improve project governance, standards, and best practices
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests
- Lead change control and scope management to protect delivery commitments and project economics
- Communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and trade-offs to executive, client, and operational stakeholders
- Translate delivery challenges into structured options and decision points for leadership and clients
- Lead and influence cross-functional, technical, and external teams to drive alignment and execution
- Manage ambiguity and competing priorities while maintaining delivery momentum
- Lead difficult conversations and drive timely resolution of delivery, scope, or performance issues
- Develop and execute recovery plans for projects at risk or off track
- Mentor, coach, and support junior project managers and project coordinators
- Set and model delivery leadership standards that elevate overall project management maturity
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience leading complex IT or technology-enabled projects
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing or consulting delivery environments
- Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Strong proficiency with project management tools, financial tracking, and reporting platforms
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification preferred
