As the company grows its infrastructure portfolio, it seeks a high-caliber Project Manager who can serve as a trusted leader—someone the organization can rely on to manage large-scale work and represent the firm with professionalism and confidence. About the Position The Project Manager will lead a major $49 million water treatment plant project in Kalamazoo, serving onsite through April 2028. This is a critical, high-visibility position that requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build deep, lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders over a multi-year project. Beyond this assignment, the Project Manager will eventually oversee additional work throughout Southwest Michigan and eastward to the Lansing region. This role provides a pathway to become a go-to leader for the company’s infrastructure work in Southeast Michigan. Key Responsibilities : Lead onsite project personnel including the Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, and Safety staff—providing daily direction, coaching, and support without micromanaging. Build strong, trust-based relationships with owners, architects / engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams—maintaining alignment and communication across a multi-year engagement. Manage the full project schedule using Microsoft Project, including daily updates, milestone creation, forecasting, and variance analysis. Run weekly onsite Owner–Architect–Contractor (OAC) meetings, including : Preparing agendas, supporting documents, and meeting minutes. Communicating schedule updates, milestones, and progress. Demonstrating full command of the project, its documents, and stakeholder needs. Partner closely with the Superintendent to reconcile daily look-ahead plans with the master schedule—identifying issues, solving conflicts, and closing gaps proactively. Oversee all cost management responsibilities, including budgets, PCOs, SCOs, and OCOs. Utilize Autodesk Build and Autodesk Cost (experience is a significant plus). Resolve internal and external disputes collaboratively and professionally. Serve as a dependable leader capable of managing complex infrastructure work with minimal oversight. Requirements Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or water / wastewater treatment projects. Proven ability to lead onsite teams (Superintendent, APM, Safety) with strong communication and coaching skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Project for full project scheduling, daily updates, and milestone management. Strong meeting management and stakeholder communication skills; experience running OAC meetings preferred. Deep understanding of cost control, forecasting, PCO / SCO / OCO management, and budget oversight. Experience with Autodesk Build and Autodesk Cost is highly preferred. Ability to build long-term, professional relationships across all project partners. Strong problem-solving ability and composure when navigating challenges or disputes. Local candidates or individuals living within roughly 60 minutes of Kalamazoo strongly preferred.
