Job Description:
Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate to join a premier national law firm with a strong presence in the venture capital and investment space. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney with 3–6 years of employment law experience and an interest in advising venture capital and other investment firms on industry-specific employment issues.

Ideal candidates will have experience counseling clients on employment-related matters, drafting agreements, and partnering with fund formation attorneys to address employment considerations for fund clients. Familiarity with the venture capital ecosystem is highly preferred. While the focus is on counseling and transactional work, some litigation experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of employment law experience at a law firm

• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills

• Experience with employment counseling and agreement drafting

• Familiarity with the venture capital or private investment industry preferred

• Licensed and in good standing in IL, NY, or CA (or eligible for waiver)

• Motivated, proactive, and collaborative team player

Compensation:
The expected annual salary range is $260,000 – $390,000, depending on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
