Overview

The Nonprofit Underwriter administers the underwriting and servicing of new and renewal accounts for assigned Nonprofit agents and producers in compliance with Company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards.

Responsibilities

Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing. This includes but is not limited to : timely review of referrals, performing risk and portfolio quality audits, and managing overall agent portfolio as relates to profitability, hit ratios and pricing initiatives.

• Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority grant and make referrals to Nonprofit and Home Office Underwriting as required.
• In collaboration with Nonprofit Management, develop and implement a business plan for the assigned agents and geographic area and share accountability with team in meeting goals.
• Coach agents on underwriting appetite and protocols in conjunction with corporate training guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Nonprofit and Regional teams to develop, manage and maintain outside client relationships. This may include traveling in the territory to meet with agents, producers and nonprofit associations or organizations.
• Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to policyholders and agents.
• Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.
• Assist in gathering and communicating competitive market information.

The expected salary range for this role is $85K-$125K / year.
