✨ Position Highlights

Compensation :  $140 / hr (up to $150 / hr based on experience)

• Schedule :  Full-time (40 hrs / week) with rotating weekend coverage

Contract :  6 months with potential for permanent hire

Start :  ASAP

Work Environment :  100% Remote (must reside in the U.S.)

🩺 Role Overview

As a Medical Director, you will support medical review operations, evaluate inpatient clinical scenarios, and apply national guidelines to determine medical necessity. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work within a structured, process-driven team.

📌 Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive and timely medical necessity reviews

Apply CMS regulations, national guidelines, and organizational policies

Maintain productivity, quality, and compliance standards

Communicate determinations clearly—verbally & in writing

Collaborate with external providers to gather clinical details

Adapt to evolving tools, workflows, and utilization management practices

Work independently after mentored training while supporting team goals

Maintain consistency and integrity in decision-making

🎯 Required Qualifications

MD or DO degree

Minimum 5 years  post-residency / fellowship clinical experience

Current  ABMS board certification

Active  unrestricted medical license  in at least one U.S. state

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills

No federal or state sanctions

Team-oriented mindset with professional integrity

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, or commercial payers

Prior utilization management experience

Familiarity with MCG®, InterQual, CMS guidelines

Hospital-based background (IM, FM, Geriatrics, EM, Hospitalist, etc.)

Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital review platforms

Experience with education, presentations, or clinical content creation

🕒 Working Hours

Full-time : 40 hrs / week

Rotating weekend coverage

100% remote from any U.S. location (must reside in the U.S.)
