Join Mizuho as a Cloud Architect!
We’re seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Architect to join our Cloud Architecture and Governance Team. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of enterprise-scale Azure architectures that meet the demands of a regulated financial environment.
The ideal candidate will be an architect who thrives on solving complex design challenges - translating business, security, and compliance needs into robust, automated, and scalable Azure designs. The ideal candidate will lead the definition of cloud architecture patterns, landing zones, and modernization strategies that shape how the firm builds in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain secure, compliant Azure landing zones aligned to regulatory and internal audit requirements.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards for identity, networking, encryption, and resource organization based on Zero Trust principles.
- Offer architectural guidance and support, acknowledging the expanding and complex project pipeline. Prioritize communication to help teams manage increasing demands as cloud adoption grows.
- Lead modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives across multiple business domains.
- Develop reusable blueprints and Infrastructure-as-Code templates (Terraform) to standardize deployments.
- Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance to integrate regulatory controls and evidence collection into technical designs.
- Mentor cloud engineers and evangelize best practices for secure, automated, and auditable cloud operations.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years in cloud architecture or infrastructure engineering, including 4+ years focused on Azure.
- Proven experience in regulated financial services environments (banking, insurance, or capital markets).
- Understanding of data protection, encryption key management (Key Vault, HSM), and private connectivity (ExpressRoute, Private Link).
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD automation, and Azure Policy.
- Strong command of Azure hybrid networking, and identity (Entra ID) design.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CIS, ISO 27001).
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred.
The expected base salary ranges from $111,000-$175,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
