About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2.5 years of Emergency Department experience, with 1 year of neuro / stroke experience and 2 previous travel assignments

License : Must have a valid RN license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (preferred)

Must-Have :

Must have experience with level 1 resuscitation patients.

Local travelers must be over 30 miles from the facility.

Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse with a specialty in the Emergency Department.

The nurse will be responsible for providing patient care to a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Daily census averages around 92 patients with a typical patient ratio of 1 : 6.

The nurse should be ready to float within the scope of their practice.

Weekends are required on an every other basis.

Travelers are encouraged to accommodate block scheduling requests on a case-by-case basis.

Mandatory certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC is preferred.

The unit primarily handles cases involving STEMI and strokes, and experience with these types of cases is preferable.

Candidates must be prepared to work holidays if they fall within the assignment timeframe.

Additional requirements include compliance with RTO parameters, which limit changes to 10 days and require an additional two weeks at least.

Travelers should also be willing to work with high-acuity patients and demonstrate skills in central line care, chest tube management, and emergency medications.

Any refusal to follow scheduling changes may forfeit guaranteed hours for the pay period.

Professional demeanor and adherence to hospital policies are essential.

All travel nurses must complete necessary modules before starting the assignment.

Experience with charting systems, particularly Meditech, is preferred.

Strong clinical skills in managing critical patients are necessary.
