Job Overview
Hubbard St. Louis is seeking a junior-level Sports Content Video Editor to support the creation of high-volume digital video content across social media, podcasts, and emerging platforms. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who loves sports, understands digital-first storytelling, and wants to grow their editing and production skill set in a fast-paced environment. The position focuses primarily on editing short- and long-form video content, with occasional light production responsibilities such as live video switching or studio support.
Job Responsibilities
Edit video content for digital platforms including social media, podcasts, and web distribution, with a primary focus on sports-related content.
Create engaging clips, highlights, promos, and show segments optimized for platform-specific formats (YoutTube, Instagram, TikTox, X, etc.)
Design thumbnails, basic graphics, and visual elements to support video content.
Perform light photo retouching and image preparation for digital use.
Assist with simple motion graphics and animations; After Effects experience is a plus, but not required.
Support occasional light production tasks, which may include live video switching, studio setup, or basic on-set assistance.
Prepare and export multiple versions of content following platform and technical specifications.
Collaborate with producers, hosts, and digital team members to execute creative direction and maintain brand consistency.
Manage media asset and maintain organized project files.
Continuously develop editing, design, and production skills, including learning new tools such as DaVinci Resolve.
Attend meetings and work scheduled hours, with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends tied to sports schedules or live events.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
0-3 years of professional or equivalent experience in video editing or digital content creation.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop.
Willingness and ability to learn DaVinci Resolve.
Familiarity with After Effects is a plus, but not required.
Basic understanding of digital video formats, codecs, and platform requirements.
Experience creating thumbnails, simple graphics, and social-friendly visuals.
Passion for sports and an understanding of sports media, highlights, and storytelling.
Strong attention to detail; organization, and time management skills.
Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and grow creatively while contributing ideas when appropriate.
Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
Demo reel or portfolio showcasing video editing and design work (professional or personal projects accepted).
Physical requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and operate computer and production equipment
Manual dexterity for editing, design, and basic production tasks.
Adequate vision and hearing to evaluate video and audio across platforms.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Reliable transportation for occasional offsite shoots, events, or studio work.
