Education
• Associate’s degree in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience.
Requirements:
• Strong troubleshooting skills for PCB subassembly failure modes and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of electronic components, circuits, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and datasheets.
• Skilled in assembly, disassembly, and repair of electronic and mechanical components.
• Experience maintaining and calibrating lab equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and basic data analysis.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Requirements;
• 3+ years of PCB troubleshooting and fine-pitch surface mount soldering experience.
• Proficiency operating and maintaining 3D printers.
• Experience with PCB layout, machining, and modifying materials (aluminum, steel, plastics, fiberglass, etc.).
• Familiarity with advanced test equipment (logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
• Experience working with John Deere electronic components, systems, and machinery.
Job Duties:
• Perform inspection, testing, and failure analysis on defective electronic assemblies to determine root cause.
• Use TAKAYA APT-1600FD software to create programs for the flying probe (60–70% of the job function is PC-based).
• Research, gather, and summarize data to support root cause analysis.
• Rework products per company and industry standards.
• Build test harnesses, loads, fixtures, and/or circuit boards to support product design and testing.
• Maintain documentation and accurate records of all work performed.
• Communicate process or design problems to supervisors and engineering, and assist in corrective actions.
• Conduct manual testing of electronic circuits and PCBs per engineering instructions.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
• Create or update test documentation for prototype products as required.
• Design and build advanced engineering test boxes and related tools.
• Train other personnel as assigned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
