Join Our Team as a Safeguarding and Therapeutic Program Lead!

We offer an exciting part-time role to become the Safeguarding & Therapeutic Lead with CALM, a respected charity. This position is home-based, requiring a commitment of 30 hours per week with the following shifts :

  • Wednesday : 16 : 30 - 12 : 30
  • Thursday : 16 : 30 - 12 : 30
  • Saturday : 16 : 30 - 12 : 30
  • Sunday : 16 : 30 - 12 : 30

Your Role :

As a CALM Safeguarding & Therapeutic Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our helpline operates in line with safeguarding laws and best practices. Your focus will be on fostering a supportive environment for helpline staff and supporting people in mental health crises.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Providing guidance and debriefs to staff on safeguarding and emotional wellbeing, promoting a culture of responsibility.
  • Leading all safeguarding initiatives, ensuring our policies are current and effectively applied.
  • Serving as the primary contact for safeguarding issues and engaging with external agencies, including emergency services.
  • Identifying risks and trends, and collaborating with management on mitigation strategies.
  • Creating and delivering training on safeguarding for staff members.
  • Managing cases of vicarious trauma and supporting staff resilience.
  • Monitoring practices and generating regular reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Quality Assurance and training teams for ongoing improvement.

    • Your Qualifications and Experience :

  • Therapeutic qualification (counselling, psychotherapy, psychology).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, preferably holding a Level 3 Safeguarding certification.
  • Significant experience in safeguarding roles, especially in mental health settings.
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff.
  • Ability to deliver support sessions and manage safeguarding concerns.
  • Proficient in producing detailed reports with statistical analysis.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to influence and create change.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
  • Ability to build strong remote relationships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and sound decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, working well independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience providing support services to vulnerable individuals.
  • Empathy and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Emotional resilience and attention to detail.
