Job Description:
- Teach and advise within the Surgical Technology Program options.
- Perform clinical visits in the OR in order to evaluate students' progress through clinical rotations in the Surgical Technology Program.
- Actively participate in the assessment of the overall effectiveness of the Surgical Technology Program options' curriculum and delivery.
- Actively participate in the assessment of compliance with all Accreditation Standards and maintenance of programmatic accreditation in assigned areas
- Represent the Surgical Technology Program with healthcare organizations.
- Actively participate in the orientation and training of clinical preceptors and staff specific to programmatic policies and outcomes.
- Maintain expertise in area of teaching responsibility.
- Actively participate and collaborate with faculty and staff within the Surgical Technology at BHCC.
- Collaborate and work with the Surgical Technology Faculty/Staff, Dean and Assistant Dean of the Health Science Division regarding all aspects of the Surgical Technology program needs, assessment, and on-going operations.
- Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements:
- Current License and/or certification as a Surgical Technologist in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Technologist.
- Prefer teaching in community college
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
Additional Information:
Salary: $1,397.00 per credit hour
