Senior System Engineer (Linux, Ansible, Python, Bash, Kernel)

Onsite 5 days per week in Austin Texas

ABOUT THE ROLE

We operate a globally distributed, high-performance server environment that powers mission-critical applications. Our infrastructure is engineered for speed, reliability, and scalability, and we rely on skilled Senior System Engineers to design, optimize, and support these systems. You’ll collaborate with technical teams across multiple regions to ensure our platform consistently delivers top-tier performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Linux-based server environments.
• Build, test, deploy, and maintain operating system packages, scripts, and automation tools.
• Identify and implement enhancements that reduce latency and improve overall system efficiency.
• Execute configuration changes, provisioning tasks, and environment updates.
• Partner with internal engineering groups and external vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning, growth strategies, and capacity management.

ABOUT YOU

• 5+ years of Linux / Unix systems administration experience.
• Experience with kernel-level tuning and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and topologies (, NFS, DHCP, IP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, NTP).
• Familiarity with automation and provisioning tools such as Kickstart, Ansible, Yum, Git, and SVN.
• Advanced scripting ability (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Experience with BIOS configuration and low-level system settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities, cross-team coordination, and daily operational support.
