Restaurant General Manager

Location : Brooklyn, NY

A popular, high-energy Asian restaurant specializing in teppanyaki and interactive dining experiences is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations and drive continued success. This is a full-service, high-volume concept known for its theatrical dining style, lively ambiance, and strong community following. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a hands-on approach, a deep understanding of hospitality operations, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service. This role requires strong team management skills, business acumen, and the ability to create a positive, performance-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations including FOH and BOH coordination, staffing, scheduling, and guest satisfaction

Lead by example in setting and upholding high service and hospitality standards

Recruit, hire, train, and mentor team members to ensure performance, engagement, and retention

Monitor and control labor, inventory, and cost of goods to meet or exceed financial targets

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Drive local marketing efforts, community engagement, and guest loyalty programs

Analyze daily / weekly sales reports and respond strategically to operational trends

Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure food quality, consistency, and timely execution

Handle guest concerns with professionalism and follow through to resolution

Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture that supports accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

5+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a General Manager or equivalent role

Experience in high-volume, full-service dining—Asian cuisine or teppanyaki concept experience is a plus

Proven leadership and team development skills

Strong knowledge of P&L management, cost controls, and operational reporting

Proficiency with POS systems and scheduling tools

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
