Director of Prevention

Lead prevention efforts that strengthen communities and inspire wellness across Missouri.

This position can be based out of any Compass Health Network location

As the Director of Prevention, you’ll oversee community-based prevention programming that promotes mental health, reduces risk factors, and supports lasting well-being across our service area. You’ll guide prevention initiatives and staff, ensure contract compliance, and foster partnerships that bring education and awareness to the communities we serve. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building collaborative solutions that create real, local impact.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, oversight, and support for Prevention Services and programming across all community coalitions

Manage prevention funding to ensure equitable allocation and program sustainability

Supervise, recruit, and develop prevention staff, including training and performance management

Strengthen and expand partnerships with community organizations, schools, and coalitions

Represent Compass Health Network in statewide initiatives and prevention networks

Ensure contract compliance, reporting accuracy, and adherence to all DMH and accreditation standards

Deliver community presentations and trainings on prevention strategies and public health topics

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Bachelor’s degree required

Work Experience :

At least two (2) years’ experience required

Licensure / Certification :

Missouri Prevention Specialist Certification within six (6) months of hire date
