[job_card.job_description]Assist students and staff in locating and checking out books and other library materials. Maintain library collection by sorting shelving books and materials on reading shelves repairing materials and keeping area clean and orderly. Catalog and prepare new materials. Maintain library files and record on patron database by adding deleting and changing records. Order library cards and print notices. Prepare overdue book information and reminder notices. Prepare billing and collect fees for lost and damaged materials. Monitor behavior of students. Assist with operation of audio-visual and computer equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of principles practices and methods of libraries Knowledge of Dewey decimal system Knowledge of circulation Knowledge of library filing systems Skill in repairing books Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
TITLE : Library Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Assist students and staff with use of the library. Check in and check out books. Locate repair maintain and shelve books. Process new books and materials. Answer questions regarding use of library resources. Assist with audiovisual equipment as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education and / or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of previous related experience
- State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
