Job Title : DevOps Engineer

Job Type : Full Time

Location : On site, Chicago, IL

Salary Range : $132,000 to $177,000 per year plus discretionary bonus

Job Overview

Our client is a Chicago based proprietary trading firm that builds high performance automated trading systems for global derivatives markets. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with software engineers, traders, and quantitative researchers to support low latency trading platforms and core infrastructure. This role focuses on automation, system reliability, observability, and infrastructure across on premises, co located, and containerized environments. This position requires on site work in Chicago. Fully remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, traders, and quantitative researchers to ensure system stability, reliability, and performance
• Design, build, and maintain automation for infrastructure, workflows, and system operations
• Develop tools that improve system reliability, observability, and operational efficiency
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, operating systems, and networks in production and staging environments
• Deploy, configure, and maintain applications using configuration management and infrastructure as code practices
• Manage and support containerized environments across on premises and co located data centers
• Support database administration, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Participate in on call or rotation based support during critical trading hours
