Position Summary: Under the supervision of the RN provides age-appropriate care. Essential Functions: General Patient Care With guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse, performs duties to support the daily care and mobility of the patient. Tasks: Provides care and assists patients in performing activities of daily living while optimizing autonomy and independence. Responds to and actively participates in emergency codes. Displays flexibility and teamwork by readily accepting patient assignment and unanticipated changes in daily routines as well as additional duties to meet unit need. Performs technical skills including initiation of IV’s, phlebotomy(excluding blood cultures), EKG’s, foley catheter insertion, maintenance and removal of catheters and dressing changes using aseptic technique. Assists in preparation for new admission, transfer and discharge of patient
