Encon is excited to invite enthusiastic applicants for our Apprentice position within the Sheetmetal department of the Encon University Program. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with technicians, project managers, clients / contractors, and installers to achieve project objectives.
  • Learn to comprehend the layout of ductwork systems and equipment; develop skills in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Participate in team meetings as necessary to stay aligned on project goals.
  • Provide support to sheet-metal technicians to enhance learning and practical skills.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma and Trade School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer and using designated software (including email).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and other written materials.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to customer service.
  • Strong work ethic, high moral standards, and superior organizational skills.
  • Effective time management and decision-making capabilities.

    • Desired Skills & Experience

  • OSHA 10 certification.

    • Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Employment and education will be verified.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Encon maintains a drug-free workplace, requiring post-offer pre-employment drug testing.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Able to work in various extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold.
  • Able to work safely in confined spaces like attics, basements, closets, and crawl spaces.
  • Able to work safely at heights, including rooftops, ceilings, and ladders.
  • Capable of bending, crawling, stooping, stretching, and reaching.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces and work off ladders, sometimes at heights.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
