The Position
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Business Development, the Manager of Business Development collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support census development across assigned company hospitals and programs. This corporate leader will participate in corporate strategy and frequently oscillate between strategy and execution at the local level, as a knowledge and supportive resource for hospital CEOs, clinical liaisons, and others involved in the census development function, helping to develop, implement, and assess business development strategy.
The Successful Candidate The Manager of Business Development is a consummate professional, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and ability to contribute significantly to the organization’s census development function. These competencies include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related discipline
- Clinical license preferred
- 5+ years of business development experience in a Long Term Acute Care or Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital setting, with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of LTAC & IRF conditions of participation
- Track record of success in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to expeditiously gain the confidence of team members, referral sources, and other stakeholders
- Excellent patient assessment skills
- Ability to manage conflict and find creative alternatives in difficult situations
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and web programs
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to project a professional image
- Self-motivated, self-starting personality
- Ability to travel overnight as required to fulfill commitments of the position (50%+)
- Ability to relocate to the area of the company’s corporate office
