EHS Coordinator

Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing Shermco Industries' Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within the Motor Shop environment. This role partners closely with shop leadership, technicians, and corporate EHS to ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture. This role reports to the Wind & Motor Services EHS Manager.

Travel Expected: 5-10%

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

* Support implementation and enforcement of Shermco's EHS policies, procedures, and programs within the Motor Shop

* Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations

* Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)

Incident Management

* Assist in incident and near-miss investigations

* Support root cause analysis and corrective actions

* Track EHS metrics and follow-up actions

Training & Safety Culture

* Coordinate and deliver safety training

* Support certification and training tracking

* Participate in safety meetings and committees

Environmental & Hazardous Materials

* Support hazardous material handling and disposal

* Maintain SDS and chemical inventories

* Support spill prevention and response

Collaboration & Reporting

* Partner with Motor Shop leadership

* Assist with EHS reporting and audits

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED

* 2+ years EHS or safety experience in an industrial or shop environment

* Knowledge of OSHA regulations

* Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Associate or bachelor's degree in safety or related field

* OSHA 30 certification

* First Aid/CPR certification

* Lifting & Rigging Certification

Physical Requirements

* Ability to work in an active shop environment

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

* Ability to wear required PPE
