Role Overview
The Principal Sourcing Specialist supports an operational procurement center responsible for executing purchase requests and managing supplier-related purchasing activities. This role works closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, and the strategic sourcing team to ensure timely, complaints, and cost-effective procurement. The position also provides leadership through coaching, workload balance, and support of complex and project-based sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert purchase requisitions for materials and services into accurate and compliant purchase orders
- Identify qualified suppliers, conduct RFQs / RFPs, and obtain competitive pricing in line with supply chain policies
- Communicate with suppliers throughout the sourcing, selection, and purchase order fulfillment process
- Partner with strategic sourcing to leverage existing agreements and identify new bid opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, supplier capabilities, and fulfillment timelines
- Monitor, track, and report cost savings and key procurement performance metrics
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers
- Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts and pricing agreements
- Evaluate supplier quotations and bids, and recommend sourcing decisions
- Support procure-to-pay activities, including delivery follow-ups, performance issues, and invoice resolution
- Maintain and update blanket and outline agreements to ensure pricing and terms accuracy
- Ensure compliance with all procurement processes, procedures, and controls
- Identify opportunities for enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives based on demand trends
- Support outage planning and project-based procurement activities, including reporting milestones
- Lead procurement process improvement initiatives and operational projects
- Provide coaching and guidance to procurement team members
- Perform additional duties as required

High School Diploma or equivalent5+ years of procurement or sourcing experienceStrong negotiation and supplier management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and Power BI(Preferred Qualifications)
Bachelor s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field5 7 years of sourcing experience within generation, retail, or corporate spend categoriesExperience working with SAP applications (1+ year)Professional supply management certification (e.g., CPSM)
