Schedule : First Shift | Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM | 40 hours / week

About the Role

Sigma Systems is seeking a Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our client's Research & Development team in Athens, GA . The ideal candidate will provide operational support to ensure laboratories run smoothly and efficiently in compliance with all local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an innovative R&D environment and gain hands-on experience in laboratory management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Laboratory Operations Manager to maintain operational excellence in all lab functions.
  • Ensure laboratory activities meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Manage and track laboratory budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Coordinate cross-functional support with R&D, facilities, and compliance teams.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure readiness and reliability.
  • Assist in implementing best practices and process improvements in laboratory operations.
  • Partner with internal teams and external consultants to support project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Scientific or Technical field preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory or production environment .
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operational systems , budgeting , inventory control , and planning .
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams .
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive results collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and a strong sense of accountability .
