We are seeking a Senior Manager to establish and lead the Data Loss Prevention Team, reporting directly to the Head of Security Operations. This role involves working closely with other leaders within the Information Security team, creating a forward-looking vision and strategy for the Data Loss Prevention Program at Coinbase. You will lead efforts to create a scalable program from the ground up, enhance processes, and implement cutting-edge technologies for rapid detection, management, and containment of data security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the development and expansion of data loss prevention strategies to safeguard the Coinbase ecosystem against sophisticated security threats.

• Formulate the overarching vision and strategy for the Data Loss Prevention Program.

• Assess and direct complex security designs and controls across a decentralized tech environment that maintain security while supporting business agility.

• Oversee and mentor teams in the implementation and deployment of DLP tools and technologies in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including endpoint security and IT.

• Boost operational efficiency within DLP Engineering & Operations through the use of LLMs and agentic AI.

• Champion an automated and streamlined approach to DLP operations.

• Advise the CISO and Senior Leadership Team on emerging threats to data protection in the crypto space.

• Produce both quantitative and qualitative metrics to inform leadership about program effectiveness and challenges.

• Collaborate with Security and Privacy Teams leading cross-functional initiatives focused on data protection.

• Coordinate with risk teams to evaluate control effectiveness and adapt to global regulatory changes.

What We Seek in Candidates:

• A seasoned team leader with a proven track history of delivering tangible results.

• Experience in spearheading enterprise-wide data loss prevention programs at scale.

• A strong technical background, capable of addressing operational challenges with engineering solutions.

• Hands-on experience configuring, tuning, and deploying DLP controls across varied OS environments.

• Proficiency in managing controls across multiple operating systems (iOS / Chrome) and decentralized datasets.

• Adept at creating scalable processes and leveraging machine learning and AI to enhance operational efficiency.

• Strong discretion and tact in cross-functional collaboration to mitigate risks.

• A keen awareness of insider threat dynamics, along with an understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to sensitive data handling on a global scale.

• Experience with Insider Threat technologies such as SIEM, UBA, and DLP, along with a grasp of investigative processes.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of crafting clear briefs and assessments for leadership.

• A team player willing to contribute at all levels, whether as an expert or a learner.

• Experience managing remote teams across various time zones.

• Business acumen reflecting an understanding of business dynamics, goals, and product strategy, especially regarding how Security integrates with Coinbase’s business.

• A balanced approach to navigating business needs, urgency, and conflicting constraints while delivering high-quality, practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ten or more years managing and leading large-scale enterprise DLP programs.

• A problem-solver who leverages an engineering and automation-first mindset.

• Experience within Web3 and crypto-centric organizations or traditional financial institutions.

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$243,865 - $286,900 USD
