Chief Estimator

gpac is partnered with a well-established Steel Construction company. They are searching for a Chief Estimator. Our client company installs heavy structural steel for the commercial construction industry. Focus on work in the commercial and industrial sectors leading a team to put together estimates for heavy structural steel erection projects ranging in value up to $100M+.

Qualifications for Chief Estimator:

• 10+ years of experience in the structural steel erection estimating
• Project Experience on Heavy Steel Construction +5,000 Tons
• Knowledge of current AISC structural codes and standards
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities for Chief Estimator:

• Prepare and review estimates for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate and communicate with team members
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients
• Manage and monitor project budgets and schedules
• Monitor and review changes in project scope
• Ensure all materials, labor and equipment costs are accurately included in estimates
• Prepare accurate material take offs
• Assist in developing and implementing cost-effective strategies

Chief Estimator Job Functions:

• Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings and specifications
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and subcontractors
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between estimates and actual cost
• Monitor progress of projects and recommend changes to ensure timelines and budgets are met
• Produce estimates, bids, and proposals for projects
• Analyze materials, labor and equipment costs for accuracy and completeness

Compensation/Benefits for Chief Estimator:

• $140,000 - $175,000+ base salary
• 401k + 4% match
• PTO and Paid Holidays
