Cybersecurity Project Engineer

Ready to make a real impact in cybersecurity NS2 Mission is looking for a talented Cybersecurity Project Engineer to join our team in Chantilly VA helping safeguard critical systems and networks while driving innovative technical solutions.

About the Role :

As a Cybersecurity Project Engineer at NS2 Mission you will play a pivotal role in assessing and mitigating technical risks across enterprise and mission systems IT networks cloud computing platforms and mobile / wireless technologies. You will provide expert guidance to ensure systems are secure resilient and compliant with current and emerging standards. Your work will directly support mission-critical initiatives while keeping pace with rapidly evolving technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct comprehensive technical risk assessments and provide mitigation guidance for enterprise and mission IT systems.
• Gather and evaluate artifacts (CONOPS use cases network diagrams technical designs SSPs) to provide a complete risk picture.
• Identify threats and vulnerabilities and apply systematic investigative practices to inform risk decisions.
• Analyze system network and cloud configurations for misconfigurations or unnecessary components.
• Evaluate hardware and software for vulnerabilities origin and currency.
• Monitor emerging technologies to advise on potential security risks.
• Provide actionable guidance on cyber threats attacks and exploitations to stakeholders.
• Ensure risk mitigation is integrated early in development cycles and communicate security considerations clearly.
• Organize workload efficiently and provide regular status updates on assessments and security cases.
