Job Summary
Assisting Recreational Sports Intramural Staff with providing a safe, healthy, and positive environment for Intramural participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with implementation of proper protocol and procedures at the beginning (proper set up of all equipment) and program conclusion (securing equipment and program facility).
Game management including stats, scoreboard, and officiating of Intramural events, games, or competitions to maintain standards of play and to ensure game rules are observed.
Assist with implementation of emergency protocol during Intramural events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Preferred Experience and Education
Experience with game management at sporting events as well as officiating experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and implementation of game rules, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for Intramural Program participants.
Knowledge and implementation of university policies as well as Rec Sports Intramural guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for Intramural participants.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with participants and spectators. Must possess strong customer service skills.

Other Requirements
Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.
Position requires strict punctuality.
Promptly complete all required trainings.
Submit time sheet biweekly.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Pay of Rate: $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours
