Job Summary :The Nurse Practitioner - Family Health provides primary healthcare to a selected group of patients, focusing on wellness promotion, illness prevention, and managing acute minor and stable chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians in accordance with education and state laws.
- Responsibilities :
- Supervising and providing clinical direction to clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.
- Adhering to all clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
- Assessing physical and psychosocial health status through medical history and physical examination.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests.
- Triage, diagnose, and treat illnesses and physical conditions within the specialty area of practice.
- Performing therapeutic and corrective measures, including prescribing medication, and providing preventive health maintenance and education.
- Teaching and counseling patients, families, and groups.
- Adhering to the conditions specified in the Nurse Practitioner Practice Agreement.
- Participating in quality improvement activities.
- Complying with guidelines set by collaborating physicians and regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery.
- Performing special assignments as requested.
- Preparing written documentation, maintaining, distributing, analyzing, and protecting information for required records, reports, and statistics.
- Directing, instructing, and evaluating nurse practitioner students.
- Contributing to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities.
- Performing other relevant duties as assigned.
- Qualifications :
- Nurse Practitioner license registration certificate for the state of New York.
- Master of Science degree in Nursing.
- National certification in specialty area.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Preferred Qualifications :
- DEA license registration certificate for the state of New York.
- Five (5) years of experience in an outpatient setting.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Physical Demands :
Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Significant job stress may be associated with the position. Evening work may be required.
- Salary :
$112k - $125k depending on experience.
