Industrial Painter
Opti Staffing | West Salem, OR Area
Pay: $25-$29/hr DOE
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 5:30am-2:00pm
Position Overview
The Industrial Paint Lead applies protective coatings-such as enamel and epoxy-to manufactured products using spray equipment, while supporting paint operations and ensuring all work meets company specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and paint industrial equipment, support structures, and small components
• Mix paint and epoxy systems according to specifications
• Apply coatings to achieve an even finish free of runs, sags, or voids
• Complete jobs on schedule while maintaining consistent workflow through the paint area
• Perform preventative maintenance on paint equipment and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work overtime as required, including short-notice scheduling
• Move large assemblies using a forklift (must be able to become certified on company equipment)
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
• 3-5 years of industrial painting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation and industrial coating applications
• Ability to properly maintain and troubleshoot spray equipment
• Experience operating forklifts; knowledge of rigging and lifting heavy equipment in tight spaces
• Ability to operate overhead and jib cranes preferred
• Experience applying a variety of coatings, including two-part epoxy systems
• Knowledge of different types of industrial paints and their applications
• Ability to maintain, clean, and repair paint equipment, including guns and hoses
• Basic math skills for mixing paint to correct ratios
• Basic computer skills for time entry and documentation
• Quality-conscious with a strong attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset
