Lead Web Developer / Front-End Team Lead

Direct Hire | Remote w / Meetings on-site Tidewater VA

Full-Time | Remote Role with Occasional In-Person Collaboration (VA Tidewater area or Richmond Preferred)

A growing digital-focused organization is looking for a Lead Web Developer / Designer to oversee and execute a wide range of website projects. This is a hands-on position ideal for a senior-level developer who thrives on clean code, strong user experience, and close collaboration with creative and marketing teams with a variety of clients.

You’ll be responsible for guiding web development from planning through launch, partnering with a small technical team and stakeholders across design and strategy. This role also involves mentoring a junior developer, shaping development processes, and driving performance and SEO improvements across various web platforms.

Responsibilities

• Integrate content management systems (CMS), including headless and traditional platforms, via RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Maintain and enhance existing websites built on legacy CMS platforms
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure faithful, high-quality implementation of UI designs
• Optimize websites for load speed, accessibility, search engines, and overall performance
• Deploy websites using modern hosting tools and infrastructure
• Establish coding best practices and provide technical mentorship to junior developers
• Stay current with development trends and bring forward innovative solutions
• Work alongside marketing and analytics teams to support tracking and data-driven initiatives
