Job Description

We are seeking a skilled sewing operator to operate industrial sewing machines, including single-needle and walking foot machines, to assemble radiation protection aprons. The role involves sewing and assembling multilayer materials such as lead or lead-free radiation shielding, vinyl, nylon, and coated fabrics. You will read and follow work orders, patterns, and technical specifications, ensuring accuracy in measuring, cutting, and aligning materials for proper fit and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble radiation protection aprons.
• Sew and assemble multilayer materials including radiation shielding, vinyl, nylon, and coated fabrics.
• Read and follow work orders, patterns, and technical specifications.
• Measure, cut, and align materials accurately to ensure proper fit and coverage.
• Inspect finished products for stitching accuracy, strength, and overall quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report mechanical issues.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines, including proper handling of radiation shielding materials.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camarillo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
