Job Description :

Pay Range : $44.91hr - $48.91hr

  • The Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading technology integration, engineering standards development, and governance activities related to transmission, distribution, and substation systems.
  • This role supports the evaluation and deployment of new technologies, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to enable safe, efficient, and scalable system-wide adoption.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead integration of new pre-commercial and commercial technologies into existing systems.
  • Assess pilot projects against defined success criteria and determine readiness for broader deployment.
  • Develop, update, and maintain engineering standards supporting new technologies and evolving compliance requirements.
  • Ensure standards align with regulatory mandates, risk mitigation strategies, and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with project leads, subject matter experts, construction and maintenance teams, operations, and training groups.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication throughout all phases of technology transition
  • Partner with technology integration and training teams to develop end-user training plans.
  • Ensure operating manuals, maintenance procedures, and compatible unit documentation are updated prior to deployment.
  • Define asset ownership and post-deployment responsibilities including maintenance and infrastructure sponsorship.
  • Oversee SAP and master data integration for newly deployed technologies
  • Manage standards change requests through all phases of the standards process
  • Maintain documentation and ensure procedural compliance for technology transfer and standards updates.
  • Conduct impact assessments for new standards and technologies, including operational, safety, and training impacts.
  • Identify gaps and provide feedback to strategy teams to support roadmap updates.

    • Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of transmission, distribution, and substation engineering standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks including CPUC General Orders and NERC requirements.
  • Ability to interpret engineering principles related to conductor tension, clearances, and structural loading.
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools impacted by standards updates including AUD / DM and SPIDA pole loading.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for substation standards drawing updates.
  • Experience leading pilot programs and facilitating technology transfer initiatives.
  • Strong risk assessment, QA / QC evaluation, and impact analysis capabilities.
  • Awareness of asset strategy and planning roadmaps to align standards with organizational goals.
  • Strong project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple standards and priorities in a dynamic environment.

    • Experience :

  • Experience supporting engineering standards development, technology integration, or power system projects.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and planning teams.

    • Qualification And Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

    • Should Have :

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Advanced knowledge of power systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with standards development and governance.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
