Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Varied Day shift Hours per Shift : 36.00 Experience : - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience required. - Two years of current experience required in a 12-plus bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. - Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. License : - State Nursing License (New Mexico or Compact State) Certifications : - BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. - BLS and PALS must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. Must-Have : - Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Description : - Floating between departments and / or local locations within 20 miles is required. - Ratios are 1 : 1-1 : 3 for holding Pediatric or SAC status patients. - Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. - Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. - Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. - Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient / family and healthcare team. - Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. - Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. - Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. - Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. - Completes patient population / age-specific / procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
