To thrive as a Sr. Product Compliance Analyst, you’ll provide expertise in requirements related to paints and consumer goods. You will ensure all items meet compliance standards. This includes authoring and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS), reviewing product labels for accurate safety warnings, and applying your chemical and technical knowledge to safeguard product integrity across markets.
You’ll also excel by working seamlessly with partners in R&D, EH&S, Customer Care, Quality, Manufacturing, and Legal to resolve compliance challenges and offer well-informed mentorship. Success in this role comes from strong cross-functional collaboration, outstanding attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving approach to navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
What we're looking for
- Ability to support the creation and upkeep of GHS-compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for coatings and consumer products.
- Able to provide regulatory and registration support for product launches and updates. Assist with registering new chemical substances and track chemical inventory status.
- Acquire and review regulatory and compositional information from suppliers and help maintain our internal software and databases.
- Monitor and interpret evolving global, national, and state regulations (e.g., GHS or equivalent experience, REACH, TSCA, CARB) and assess their impact on formulations and products. Clearly maintain, document, and communicate information concerning the registration and regulatory status of products for cross-functional groups and departmental management.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports mandated by various agencies and authorities to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Communicate regulatory requirements and changes to internal collaborators and provide training on compliance topics.
- Respond promptly to regulatory inquiries and provide informed advice to management and staff. Manage requests for data and information, either orally or in writing, and answer related questions as they pertain to various aspects of our business.
- Participate in regional and global regulatory projects to harmonize and streamline processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science field (Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Industrial Hygiene) or equivalent level of experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong working knowledge of GHS, TSCA, DSL, architectural coatings regulations, and product compliance requirements across North and South America, plus familiarity with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and RCRA.
- Experience with regulatory reporting (EPR, emissions, etc.) and a solid understanding of raw material chemistry as it relates to coatings technology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance and SDS authoring within the chemical industry.
