Position Summary :
The KBI is accepting applications to fill an Application Developer. As an Application Developer you would be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting a complex enterprise application environment that includes the integration of data from multiple sources through service endpoints and other interfaces in support of the KBI and the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development using Microsoft .NET and a passion for creating high-quality applications. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :
Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirementsParticipate and contribute in the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications and servicesParticipate and contribute in code reviewsDevelop, debug, and document code that conforms to organizational standardsContribute to the support and maintenance of existing applicationsConfigure application environments for the purposes of development, testing, or production useProvide support to users by responding to support requests by ticket, email, in person, and over the telephoneTroubleshoot and resolve issuesProvide updates to Applications Development Manager and Support Manager and Project Managers on work in progress, estimated time of completion of tasks, and issues that may impact completion of tasksStay current with new technologies and development practicesPerform other related duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications : Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline that includes computer programming and systems analysis. Education may be substituted for work experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant and demonstrated experience with .NET and C# developmentExperience in ASP.NETUnderstanding of object oriented programming principles and practicesFamiliarity with the software development lifecycleFamiliarity with web development practicesEffective written and oral communication skillsMotivated to learn new technologies and development practicesAbility to troubleshoot and correct application issuesAbility to work within a team, as well as work independentlyPreferred Qualifications
Strong experience in .NETStrong experience in ASP.NETExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010-2022Experience with .NET Framework up to version 4.7, and .NET up to version 10Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, or Angular)Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases, including queries, views, and stored proceduresExperience with support, and working with users to troubleshoot and resolve issuesExperience with Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC) and GitExperience with Azure DevOps ServerExperience working in an Agile / Scrum development environmentDesire to research new technologies, development practices, and enterprise architectural strategies and the confidence to make recommendations for technological direction of teamFamiliarity withDomain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Clean Architecture principlesExperience with Unit TestingPost-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements
