Electrical Controls Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our distribution team. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical control systems that support warehouse automation, material-handling equipment, and facility operations. The Electrical Controls Specialist will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving efficiency across the distribution network.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, install, and maintain electrical control systems for conveyors, sorters, forklifts, and automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and other electrical components.
  • Program, configure, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to improve performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize urgent repairs and system upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Support facility expansion projects by designing and implementing new control systems.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support to minimize downtime.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and automation capabilities.

Essential Skills :

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical controls, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and other safety standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $83200.00 / yr.
