[job_card.job_description]Assist in the test and troubleshooting of printed circuit boards, referencing schematics and test procedures. Work alongside other electrical engineers and electrical technicians. Get hands-on experience with electronic hardware and software in a lab environment. Create tooling to aid in the testing of electronic assemblies. You possess circuit knowledge and the ability to read schematics You have experience working with an ECAD tool, preferably Altium Designer You are familiar with multimeters, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers You have excellent written and verbal communication skills You take initiative and have an eagerness to learn You must be working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering You must have completed (at a minimum) your sophomore year in college You must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above to be considered $26 - 28 / hr Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits including Prescription and Orthodontia with employee-paid premiums as low as $40.00 per pay period

About the Internship nLIGHT is currently recruiting for an Engineering student to intern with us for the summer of 2026. This internship is a 10 to 12-week program that offers challenging assignments, projects, and career development opportunities to enhance your professional growth. You will also earn a competitive wage based on your discipline and academic class status. About the Team The Electrical Engineering team is a small group of engineers and technicians that as responsible for the design, test, and troubleshooting of a variety of printed circuit boards for industrial, medical, and defense applications. What You Can Expect to Learn
- How to test and troubleshoot printed circuit boards.
- How to read schematics and cable drawings.
- How to use Altium Designer and other applications used in electronics design.
- How to use common electronics lab bench test equipment, i.e. meters, oscilloscopes.
- How to design simple printed circuit boards.
