Job Summary

The Cytotechnologist is responsible for processing and screening cytologic specimens, performing microscopic evaluations, and issuing diagnostic reports. The role includes preparing final diagnoses for negative GYN cases and preliminary interpretations for remaining cases in collaboration with a Pathologist. This position ensures specimen quality, supports FNA procedures, maintains regulatory compliance, and contributes to seamless laboratory operations. Key Responsibilities

• Process and screen cytologic specimens according to established procedures
• Perform microscopic evaluation and issue diagnostic reports
• Finalize negative GYN case reports; provide preliminary findings for other cases
• Conduct and document quality control and quality assurance activities
• Assist and ensure accuracy of fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures
• Maintain patient specimen identification and ensure accurate processing
• Follow infection control and safety standards consistently
• Contribute to efficient operations and adjust schedule based on workload

Requirements

• BS/BA in Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences
• Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
• Required: Cytotechnologist (CT) ASCP or equivalent certification
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Technical proficiency and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Availability for first-shift, Monday–Friday
