Accounts Payable Analyst

Description: This position is for an Accounts Payable Analyst providing direct support to our internal and external customers within the Lockheed Martin (LM) supply chain. Analysts are expected to independently research issues and resolve complex errors across a broad range of technical and financial topics. Analysts must be able to work effectively in a close team environment, placing the mission and the team objectives first. Analysts must be able to support tight deadlines on a continuous basis, driving positive results in key AP metrics while adhering to policies and procedures. The analyst will be expected to master various AP processes while providing excellent customer service and maintaining frequent contact with business partners. Additional responsibilities will be assigned, as necessary.

Core work is cyclical and follows a schedule, but at times this role contains a dynamic component which requires the ability to quickly adapt to new processes and deliver high quality work under pressure. Occasional weekend support may be required on an as needed basis, especially during peak times including year-end and month-end closing. Analysts must be comfortable adapting to new technology in a constantly changing and complex financial world.

Accounts Payable is located within our larger Global Financial Services (GFS) organization which provides core finance and services to all areas of Lockheed Martin in the United States and around the world. In GFS, all analysts are expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with our internal customers by delivering critical services at a very high degree of accuracy daily. GFS places a high emphasis on lean operations, and analysts are expected to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to the following:

- Support the capture and processing of invoices from our suppliers and internal customers.

- Support our internal and external customers by responding to requests on a broad range of topics related to supply chain operations. Supporting the resolution of AP Help Desk inquiries is a large component of this position.

- Support resolution of invoices in process to resolve errors and ensure timely payment to our suppliers.

- Perform root cause analysis to investigate and resolve complex financial issues to prevent the aging of payables.

- Other duties include support of requests, providing payment status, supporting ad hoc requests for reporting, ERP system issue analysis, process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

- Finance, Economics or related degree, or equivalent experience / combined education

- Effective analytical skills demonstrated through related experience

- Ability to manage competing priorities on a continuous basis

- Effective Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis in Excel

- Proven effective customer service research and response

- Proven accountability and professionalism

- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team

- Quick and proactive learner with aptitude for various processes

- Proven detailed-oriented and self-motivated work style

- Flexibility to adjust schedules to meet customer needs as needed

Desired Skills:

- Prior Accounts Payable experience

- SAP experience

- Experience with automation software

- Advanced skill level in Excel

- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement effective process improvements quickly and efficiently

- Demonstrated ability to automate manual processes with Power Query

- Experience with Help Desk operations

- Demonstrated ability to work independently with others and in decision making

- Demonstrated ability to independently drive change in large cross functional organizations

- Experience interacting with our government customer or Lockheed Martin products

- Knowledge / experience with FAR and DFAR

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $66,000 - $114,425. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,400 - $101,200. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
