Position Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you're not just a caregiver - you're a mentor, a cheerleader, a guide, and a source of stability. You'll help individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and those with low vision or blindness engage in meaningful, fun, and skill-building activities.

You'll create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment while helping people reach their personal goals and live life to the fullest.

You'll also safely operate company vehicles, transporting individuals to and from programs, activities, and community outings.

What You'll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships with the individuals you support.
• Provide one-on-one and group instruction based on Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs).
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with case managers, families, and guardians.
• Serve as a positive role model and contribute to a supportive team culture.
• Transport and accompany individuals to programs and community activities.
• Follow DOT regulations and complete required driving logs and checklists.
• Complete incident reports when necessary.
• Administer medications and document accurately.
• Assist with personal hygiene/meal prep.
• Support production and material handling tasks.
• Set up workstations and conduct time studies.
• Jump in where needed - flexibility is key!

What You Bring:

Education::

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or CNA/caregiver experience required.
• 2-4 years of caregiver experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Microsoft Word & Outlook proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with occasional guidance.
• Crisis intervention confidence.
• Organizational and planning strengths.
• Sign language skills are a plus!

Licenses/Certifications:

• CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to complete DOT certification, physical, and drug screen.

Vision Requirements:

• Ability to review and inspect work (your own and others').
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment such as forklifts.
