Main responsibilities:
Supervises daily operation of the Vehicle Maintenance shop ensuring that all repairs are performed according to Company maintenance guidelines and DOT rules and regulations, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Supervises associates work performance. Generates and closes all work orders and preventative maintenance service sheets, assigning work appropriately.
- Tracks equipment movement in order to schedule daily repairs and maintenance.
- Assists the Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent in planning the quarterly budget.
- Coordinates warranty repairs with the Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent to ensure proper reimbursements.
- Performs inventory on parts, supplies, tires and refrigerant.
- Interacts with the Transportation department to minimize tractor/trailer out of service.
- Ensures compliance with Company and government rules and regulations by all department personnel.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Previous experience and/or formal training or education in transportation and heavy duty diesels, preferably with the Company or in the grocery industry. Class A CDL and EPA certified in refrigerant recovery, preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to transportation.
- Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.
- Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.
- Basic computer skills required and personal computer experience helpful, with word processing and spreadsheet applications preferred. Working knowledge of the onboard computer system and computerized maintenance program, helpful.
- Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
