QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid Alabama driver's license
3. Must meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Good knowledge of tools, materials and methods to safely perform the work required.
2. Ability to perform grounds keeping and minor maintenance.
3. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
4. Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
5. Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions and temperatures.
6. Ability to observe and report needs for maintenance and supplies.
7. Ability to get along with students, teachers and general public.
8. Ability to climb and work from ladders or scaffolds.
9. Ability to move furniture, supplies and materials.
10. Physical dexterity, mobility, and strength to stoop, climb, lift heavy weights, reach parts and supplies, and perform the essential functions of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Establishes priorities on repairs and general building maintenance, both inside and outside the building.
2. Examines the school building and grounds on a regular basis for needed repairs and general maintenance needs.
3. Completes requests for general repairs or projects.
4. Requests assistance for general repairs or projects beyond the capabilities of the school.
5. Replaces light bulbs and cleans light covers as needed with help from custodial personnel.
6. Changes marquees as directed by the principal.
7. Takes care of the school's security system during the day and after work hours by responding to emergency calls from the service provider, police department and fire department.
8. Orders materials and supplies as needed for repairs and general maintenance of the school.
9. Moves furniture, supplies and materials as needed.
10. Assists with custodial duties as needed.
11. Assists with the athletic facilities as needed.
12. Assumes other reasonable and equitable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor(s).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The terms of employment shall be in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy Manual, Students First Act and the Board's Salary Schedule - Maintenance -School Maintenance.

EVALUATION

Performance evaluation shall be in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel - GCRK and GCRK-R.
