As a Traffic Design Engineer, P.E., you will support mid to large-scale transportation projects with a focus on Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and / or Signing, Pavement Marking design, ITS, Signals, and Lighting.

This role is ideal for an experienced traffic engineer who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow into larger project responsibilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and public agencies.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

• Develop Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans for transportation projects, including temporary traffic control, detours, and phased construction
• Perform analysis, design, and plan sheet preparation for signing, striping, ITS, signals, lighting, and / or MOT for highways, arterials, interchanges, and intersections
• Support technical leads and project managers on traffic design tasks while ensuring compliance with MUTCD, AASHTO, and DOT standards
• Prepare studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Coordinate with internal team members across disciplines to support project delivery
• Participate in meetings with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders
• Apply quality control practices to assigned design tasks and deliverables
• Manage multiple assignments and meet established project schedules
